By Justin Hales, CEO of Camplify
Camplify is Australia’s largest and the UK’s and most innovative peer-to-peer caravan hire and RV sharing community.
You might say that our RV sharing system is kind of like an Airbnb for Caravans, Campervans, Motorhomes, Static Caravans, Camper Trailers, and Trailer Tents.
Why did you apply to the program?
We applied for the program cause we saw our customers needed help. Fuel is one of the biggest costs of any road trip in Australia, and we wanted a partner to work with on providing products to our customers. We knew Caltex was looking to innovate and saw an opportunity for them to work with a fast moving business to tailor a solution.
What’s it been like working with Caltex?
Caltex are easy to work with, they are very interested in how they can be involved with startups, what that startup knows about their customers, and how can they help. Overall a fantastic experience.
What’s the biggest learning you’ll take away from the Slingshot program?
For us as a Scaleup business, its was more about understanding how we could most effectively work with a partner such as Caltex, and how we could help each other.
What was your favourite aspect of the program?
Pitching was the best. I love any opportunity to tell a room of super-engaged people about my business, and how we can help each other.
What’s next for your Startup?
There is A LOT on for Camplify. We are currently completing a fundraise which will allow us to expand to more countries. But domestically, we want to focus our efforts on building a strong product for our customers, and relationships like the one forged with Caltex allows us to do that.
